AION 2 Global Pauses Ludra Sanctuary: Raid Rework and October 16 Announcement

Sanctuary Raid: Ludra was taken out of AION 2’s global commercial-launch build on October 5, 2026. NCSOFT’s explanation is unusually specific: Early Access groups defeated Ludra with less overall character progression than the team had anticipated. Rather than restart the same encounter, the developer is revising it for another first-clear race.

A familiar boss, different mechanics

The revised fight will retain Ludra’s central identity while introducing new or adjusted mechanics and attack patterns tailored to the global service. A strategy based on Early Access footage may still help with the basics, but it should not be mistaken for a confirmed guide to the returning fight.

NCSOFT also plans a fresh First Clear event with rewards and a reset of the relevant Hall of Fame. The precise competition rules are yet to be detailed.

What Early Access raiders keep

Ludra-specific equipment obtained during Early Access has been temporarily taken away. The notice says that equipment will be returned when the raid reopens, alongside the upgrade materials previously invested in it.

Players who defeated Ludra in the European region during Early Access will receive a distinct commemorative title. This is a targeted recognition for those clears, not a reward announced for every global player.

A date to watch—not a reopening date

NCSOFT said it would announce Ludra’s return date by October 16, 2026, together with details of the renewed First Clear event. Crucially, October 16 itself has not been confirmed as the raid’s reopening day.

For now, raid groups should monitor Global notices rather than planning around that unconfirmed date. These announcements do not establish any change to the Korean or Taiwanese versions of Sanctuary content.
