AION 2 Global Steam AI Disclosure: Arcana Art, Icons and Player Reviews

Region: Steam/PURPLE Global. This story concerns the worldwide PC storefront, not a new Korean or Taiwanese gameplay update.

The conversation around AION 2’s worldwide launch has extended beyond server queues and class builds. On the game’s Steam store page, NC explicitly discloses that some in-game assets were created with assistance from AI tools. The statement identifies Arcana card designs and some icons among the assets using AI-generated material.

What the statement does—and does not—say

That is a more limited and testable claim than either “the entire game is AI-generated” or “the game contains no AI-generated art.” The disclosure does not quantify how much of the art pipeline used these tools or list every affected asset. It also makes no announcement about replacing illustrations, changing gameplay or introducing new mechanics.

Players can independently read the section headed AI Generated Content Disclosure on Steam rather than relying on cropped screenshots or secondhand summaries.

Read review percentages with care

An indexed snapshot of the storefront showed 10,087 English-language user reviews, 58% positive, with an English review label of Mixed. This is a particular language-filtered snapshot, not a permanent all-language score. It would be misleading to compare that figure directly with a percentage gathered under another language filter or on a different date.

In reporting published on October 7, 2026, GamesRadar described both positive reactions to character creation and visuals and criticism of monetization, alongside debate about AI-assisted artwork. Those are reactions from users and media coverage, not a confirmed policy violation or an official promise that the artwork will be revised.

A useful way to evaluate the controversy

Separate three questions: which assets NC has disclosed, how actual gameplay and monetization feel to you, and what individual players think of the art style. Steam reviews can be filtered by language, recency and playtime; any aggregate label may change as more players post.

This is independent reporting and is not issued by NC or the AION 2 operations team.
